No one I believe sang Faiz saab like Nayyara Noor has. Her sweet, enchanting and magical voice transcends the listener to a feeling that’s hard to express. One such great composition by the great Arshad Mehmood is for this ghazal Phir Aaina E Alam.

I fell in love with it the first time I heard it on a TV show. And then, now that I’ve got the mp3 version of it, I am sharing it hear for all the admirers of Faiz saab and Nayyara Noor. Listen to this one, it’s simply brilliant and a class act and represents so much that’s going around in this ill fated country.

    Hi… thanks. I fully agree with you: Nayyara Noor has no match when it comes singing gazhals of Faiz sahib.
    I wish I could meet her.
    Its a pity that sarhad pe lage hai tale.

    Incidentally I just heard this after a long time on Indus Vision rerun of Tribute to Faiz (must be 6 years or so older)… it brought tears to my eyes, such is the power of Faiz’s verses and when it is given Nayyara’s soulful voice it is absolutely mindblowing for a thinker…. Yes so relevant, thanks for the mp3… I can now hear it whenever, which may just be daily

    That’s the same program where I first heard this and it was magical. It grew upon me in that very moment, and all praise to Nayyara Noor who sang it SO well.

    Another year, yet this soulful rendering and its profound lyrics continue to haunt me…. pity Ms Nayyara is not singing anymore… I wish she returns back to the arts again and brings verdancy to our parched existences
